Real Estate:
I love the real estate business. I am a Broker, Realtor, investor and advisor. There are a lot of different facets of real estate and I am interested in all of them to a certain extent. I love helping people achieve the American Dream of home ownership. I also like using real estate as an investment vehicle that provides safety of principal, cash flow, appreciation, and tax benefits. I enjoy investing in property, managing property and I especially like helping others invest in real estate and watching my clients grow their wealth and cash flow over time. I enjoy working with seasoned real estate professional investors who invest in large commercial properties, and I also like helping new investors make their first purchase of a single family home or duplex.
My Specialty:
Knowing the trends, statistics and the areas of Raleigh that are appreciating the most and helping my clients (both homebuyers, sellers, and investors) achieve the greatest return on their investment when they sell and the best deal when they purchase. I work with first time home buyers, experienced home buyers and sellers, and investors. The areas I work are the downtown Raleigh real estate market, as well as the Cary, North Raleigh, and Southern Wake (some parts of Johnston County as well).
Why work with John Huber?
There are about 4,000 Realtors in the greater Raleigh area. In any business, there is a small percentage of people who succeed, and a large percentage of people who are average. Many of these average people fail. In fact, in the 2008 real estate downturn, 43% of Realtors failed to make enough money to survive and had to leave the business.
Why mention this? I need to demonstrate that there is a good chance that if you work with a Realtor, you will get a mediocre one. I try hard to be above average, and the way I do this is to constantly ask myself: What would I want if I were my own client. Customer service has to be a Realtor’s number one goal. I can promise you one thing: I will give you my best effort, and I will always look out for your best interests.
In addition, I am one of the few Realtors who understand the real estate business from a value standpoint. I study statistics, trends, markets (financial, stocks, and real estate). Most realtors cannot tell you what the average days on market is, the median sales price in Raleigh, the best appreciating neighborhoods, the appreciation rate, or the current months of inventory. These numbers may not mean much to the average home buyer, but they do impact his or her investment and a good Realtor can help his or her clients make good decisions on whether a purchase is a good one or not.
Raleigh Real Estate Market:
The Raleigh market is consistently ranked in the top 10 markets in the nation for economic growth, job growth, population growth, and real estate sales. The strength of our local economy fuels the real estate market which I believe will flourish for years to come. Developers and investors are moving to Raleigh from all over the country to take advantage of relatively low prices and the high potential for appreciation for downtown Raleigh real estate, as well as the surrounding areas.

Hobbies and Interests:
My favorite thing to do is spend time with my wife Amy. We spend a lot of time at the ocean, and we also like to travel to different parts of the country. Amy and I are fortunate to have a lot of good friends and close family members that we spend a lot of time with as well.
I attended North Carolina State University where I competed in Division I Track & Field and Cross Country.
Three strong interests I have outside of real estate are sports, politics, and history. I grew up in Buffalo, NY and I am a big fan of the Buffalo Bills and the Buffalo Sabres (now a hated rival of another team that Amy and I like: the 2006 Stanley Cup Champion Carolina Hurricanes). We may be the only two people that root for both teams (except when they play each other). Being an NC State alum, I also like watching the Wolfpack football and basketball teams compete. I worked for a sports radio station in Raleigh (WRBZ 850 ‘The Buzz’) for three years, producing two talk shows for Adam Gold and Steve Logan (former Head Coach at East Carolina and current offensive coordinator for Boston College).
When we travel, I enjoy learning about the local real estate markets and I like to stay informed about every major metropolitan real estate market. This helps me educate clients who are relocating to our Raleigh real estate market.
I also like to keep up to date on what is going on in Washington D.C. I am grateful everyday for the country we live in and thank God for the freedom we have.
